Nothing makes us happier than walking down the street and spotting this kind of sticker on a storefront window:

With Breukelen Coffee House’s organic Stumptown coffee, and an army of laptop-hunched freelancers occupying the back room of the Franklin Avenue mainstay, some people might get it twisted. But co-owners Frank Warren and Jason Morgan, who have been running the place since 2009, identify themselves before you walk through the door.

Once inside, you’ll meet friendly baristas; a mellow atmosphere — ambient hip-hop will likely be playing — and an unspoken invitation to settle in for as long as you need. Supplement your rounds of coffee with snacks including Balthazar pastries and Breukelen’s satisfying Breakfast Cup composed of creamy grits, cheddar, a sunny soft-boiled egg, smoky bacon and a smattering of baked kale (you know, for balance).
